Dr. Kelsey Friesen D.M.D.

Dr. Kelsey Friesen D.M.D.

Graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Zoology in 1997. He went on to receive a Doctor of Medical Dentistry from the University of Manitoba Faculty of Dentistry in 2002 and practices general, cosmetic, pediatric, oral surgery, endodontic, and prosthetic dentistry.

Besides creating beautiful smiles at Smiles On Southglen, Dr. Friesen works as a contract dentist for the Federal Government and now divides his time between Smiles On and the northern Manitoba communities he services. He has lived in Winnipeg all his life and enjoys traveling, sports, photography, and film. Dr. Friesen frequently volunteers for Kindness in Action, a charity group that provides dental services for those in need in Central and South America. Dr. Friesen has also worked as a casual clinical instructor for the Department of Pediatrics at the Faculty of Dentistry from 2002-2004.

Received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry from the University of Manitoba and currently divides his time between private practice and teaching students at the Faculty of Dentistry. Teaching since 2002, Dr. Lau has instructed students in a variety of Clinical and Preclinical courses including Pediatric Dentistry, Operative Dentistry, Crown and Bridge, and General Practice.

His practice focuses on Cosmetic Dentistry and has centered his continuing education on expanding his knowledge in multi-disciplinary treatment to better provide for all of his patients needs.

With training in Nitrous Oxide and Conscious Sedation, Dr. Lau is experienced in treating children and helping sensitive patients cope with the anxiety of dental treatment.

During the past fifteen years, Dr. Lau has spent much of his spare time volunteering with Kindness in Action, a non-profit organization that provides dental services in third world countries such as Nicaragua, Guatemala, Venezuela, Tibet, Belize and Peru.
